History
The CNE originated as an agricultural fair in the 1800s, it has evolved into one of the longest annual fairs in North America. The CNE or "Ex" is open in August, 3 weeks prior to Labour Day. It is held in the area known as Exhibition Place.
The fair features large shopping markets as well as a midway with rides and a casino. Horse shoes and other farm animal exhibits are a reminder of the show's origins.
Each year more than 1M visitors pass through the CNE. Situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, the CNE grounds is a 350-acre carnival of entertainment, rides, buildings, sports and agriculture
Attractions
The CNE is known for the CNE Air Show, held on the last weekend of the CNE.
The food building has an assortment of sweet treats and greasy foods. The Queen Elizabeth Buidling and the National Trade Centre have a variety of exhibitors.
