Designed by Viljo Revell in the 1960s to look like a giant sculpture city hall along with Nathan Phillips Square at its base were open of Toronto's first spaces dedicated to public gatherings. The square is often used for protests, demonstrations as well as celebrations. Located to the east is Old City Hall and on the west is Osgoode Hall.
