Colborne Lodge is located at the south entrance of High Park. It is the resting place of John Howard, original owner (1837-1890) of the land which makes up the park. It is one of North America's oldest surviving buildings in the Regency Picturesque - a popular cottage style dwelling with the gentry. Howard designed the home himself.
The lodge has been restored to the 1870s look with a sewing room, dining area, kitchen and bedrooms. The lodge also has one of the oldest bathrooms in the city.
