History
College Park was originally intended to be a 670 ft skyscraper to replace the downtown Eaton's flagship store. Financial difficulties made this impossible, and the building was constructed as a art deco low-rise. The building operated as an adjunct to Eaton's until 1977, when provincial courts and shops moved into the building. The architecture and detail in the decor of the building are notable. The events hall Carlu was named after the building's architect - Jacques Carlu.
