Hot Docs is an international documentary festival held every year in Toronto. Documentaries from Canada and around the world are featured. The 2011 festival took place between April 28 and May 8.

The festival began in 1993 by a group of independent documentary film makers called the Documentary Organization of Canada. Three years later the festival became a separately incorporated organization with the goal of showcasing and supporting the work of Canadian and international documentary makers.
The organizational also runs an event called Doc Soup, a monthly documentary screening series at Bloor Cinema from October to April.
