NXNE is the annual North by Northeast Music Festival and Conference held in Toronto. The event is considered a premier place for showcasing new music and music-related film. 2010 marks NXNE's 16th year, and will take place between June 14 - 20 inclusive. Over 650 bands are scheduled to perform across 50 venues spread throughout the city.
Participation in the festival and conference requires registration and payment of a registration fee (see Tickets section). However, there are also numerous free concerts at venues such as Yonge-Dundas Square and even the Pearson International Airport.

Music Festival
Artists from around the world are will be performing in 50 venues throughout downtown Toronto.

Conference
The NXNE Conference features celebrity interviews and panel sessions related to the music business. Demo-listening and mentoring sessions are designed to keep participants up-to-date in music-business trends. Past conference guests included Police drummer Stewart Copeland, head Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten, guerrilla songwriters Steve Earle and Bruce Cockburn, Peaches, Patti Smith, Thomas Dolby and Stones’ ex-guru Andrew Loog Oldham.
The conference will be held at the NXNE festival headquarters at the Hyatt Regency on 370 King St. W.
Film Festival
The NXNE Film Festival features a program of hand-selected music-related movies and documentaries from around the world.
The 16th NXNE Film Festival will screen many of its 40 music-related films at the NFB Mediatheque, 150 John Street. Gala presentations on June 17 and June 18 will be held, respectively, at the Royal Cinema and the Bloor Cinema. A full scheduled can be found on the film festival mini-website.
