The TTC is also known as the Toronto Transit Commission. TTC Website. The organization is run by the municipal government with funding from the province of Ontario. It was created in 1920 by an act of the provincial government
The commission runs 139 bus routes (1737 buses), 11 street car routes (248 streetcars) and 3 subway lines (706 subway cars). Annual passenger trips were 466 in 2008. The commission employes 12K workers.

Hours
Major routes such as Bloor and Yonge St. have service 24 hours a day.
The subway runs from approximately 6am to 2am on weekdays.

- Tokens: 4 fares for $10 (sold only at subway stations or convenience stores)
