How to avoid parking tickets in Toronto

Trying to avoid parking tickets?  Here’s what Toronto parking enforcement tickets for.

  1. Not paying the parking meter/ expired parking meter
    • Beware around hospitals, malls and universities.  These are the highest ticketed locations in the city.  Sunnybrook and U of T Scarborough had the highest number of parking tickets issued on their properties
  2. Parking longer than 3 hours on a city street
  3. Parking more than 30 cm from a curb
  4. Parking a vehicle with a for sale sign
  5. Obstructing driveway/laneway
  6. Parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant
  7. Parking on a boulevard or sidewalk
