Longer days and warmer weather are perfect excuses to go out and enjoy the summer and sunshine. Cycling is one great way to exercise and to get around the city. Everyone knows that it is easy to take your bike to the Toronto Islands for the day, it is also very easy to take your bike and enjoy Ontario’s Niagara-on-the-Lake by bike, too.
Every summer, from June to September, GO Transit offers special seasonal service bound for Niagara Falls with bike coaches to allow travellers to bring their bikes along on their trip.
Bikes can be secured in the bike carriages while passengers can sit in the passenger carriages.
“I’ve had the opportunity to drive to a few [Niagara] wineries but always daydreamed about how beautiful biking would be. I finally got the opportunity to make this wish a reality with GO.” @melsays shared her girls’ day out on our summer GO Train service. Share your #GOgetaway with us – we’ll be posting our favourites!
There are two options to get to Niagara-on-the-lake. The first option is to take the train to St. Catharines and take a connecting bus to Niagara-on-the-Lake. The buses are also equipped with bike racks. The other way is to take the train all the way to Niagara falls and use the Niagara River Recreational Trail to Niagara-on-the-lake.
It’s the perfect time of year to take in the beautiful fall foliage in #Niagara. Bring your bike along with you on our seasonal trains and take a cruise down the Niagara River Recreation Trail. Check out our long weekend getaway ideas via the link in our profile! #GOgetaway
