Where to park for free in downtown Toronto
Brunswick Avenue between Bloor St. West and Harbord St.
Situated between Mirvish Village, Koreatown, and the University of Toronto, this spot on Brunswick Avenue is perfect for those who need a short walk to any of the three locations. Free parking is available every day, however, only one hour is allowed between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm. At all other times, a maximum of three hours are permitted.
College St. between Spadina Ave. and Bathurst Ave.
Located just east of Little Italy and within walking distance to Kensington Market, this strip of College St. has free municipal parking after 9pm and until 8am the next morning on Weekdays and Weekends. As traffic in the area is often congested, be cautious of oncoming, cyclists, pedestrians and other cars.
Brant St. between Richmond St. West and King St. West
Situated in the fashion district, this excellent free parking spot is great for those looking to take a stroll in Saint Andrew’s Playground, which is also located on Brant St. With three hours of free parking allowed every day between 6 pm and midnight, this spot is perfect for a quick downtown dinner.
Pembroke St. between Gerrard St. East and Dundas St. East
Situated in the Garden District in the heart of downtown Toronto, this convenient spot on Pembroke St. is a short, easy walk away from several important areas. To the north is Allan Gardens, to the east is Ryerson University, and St. Michael’s Hospital is a few blocks southeast. On weekdays, one hour of free parking is allowed from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Three hours are allowed on weekends from 10 am to 3:30 pm.
Sumach St. between Gerrard St. East and Wellesley St. East
Located in Cabbagetown, this free parking spot is perfect for visiting Riverdale Farm, Necropolis Cemetery, and Wellesley Park, each of which are a short walk away. A maximum of three hours free parking are allowed every day of the week between the hours of 7 am and midnight.
Augusta Ave. between Queen St. West and Grange Ave.
Situated between the Trinity-Bellwoods and Chinatown neighborhoods, this location on Augusta Avenue is a perfect spot to park for free for a quick downtown trip. Augusta is only a few blocks southeast ofAlexandra Park and Toronto Western Hospital. Free parking is permitted for three hours at a time every day of the week between 7 am and midnight.
Bleecker St. between Carlton St. and Wellesley St. East
Situated in Saint James Town, this free parking spot is one of the few in the area, making it a noteworthy place to keep in mind. Allan Gardens is to the south and is only a short walk away. The University of Toronto is also a walkable distance to the east of Bleecker St. Free parking is allowed for up to one hour every day of the week between 10 am and midnight.
